Morning Call

Single - A Little Late

Play 90 second soundbite of 'A Little Late' @ 'CD quality'

'A Little Late' is the debut single release from Blackburn's raunchy sounding Morning Call; a bold, brassy work that belts along by virtue of a pungent rhythm section, stabbing guitar riffs and crashing chords.

Indie, yes. Rockin', absolutely. But, Morning Call have taken indie and managed to add to it a signature sound that's them and only them. The backbeat provides a big hooky syncopation to tap yer feet along to whilst the guitars crash and cry with anguish and a multitude of emotions. With plenty of time signatures, stops and crescendos to get off on, Morning Call inject interest alongside energy and light and shade.

'A Little Late' is joined here by 'The Last Laugh'; with its pulsating rhythm, bouncy bass lines and U2-esque spiky guitar, electric sound fills the voids behind the voices and the guys demonstrate some gutsy instru-battles without ever getting close to losing the plot. As hard-driven as the 'A' Side, 'The Last Laugh' would be equally well suited to prime position on this release. Two pretty damn fine indie rock songs from one helluva powerhouse outfit.

'A Little Late' and 'The Last Laugh' are both commercially viable songs and they come together here to make up one pretty strong contender in the indie rock marketplace. Punchy stuff - recognisable and high energy work from Morning Call.
