Play 90 second soundbite of 'Do You Dream Of Me?' @ 'CD quality'
The nearest comparison I could give to Moonshot would be Pet Shop Boys; think of the pulsating pop sensibility of the latter, think of the earthy lyrics, think of a chilling calm often sitting juxtaposed to the danceable vibe - you've got it, you've got Moonshot!! For me however, Moonshot are more though provoking, more descriptive, more experimental and more underground than PSB - Moonshot totally do it for me when I can easily take or leave PSB!!
Considering the electro ethos that forms the backdrop to most of Moonshot's music, Moonshot never lose control of the feel - they never let the digital crowd out musical sensibility - Moonshot make electro sound like orchestral, they keep it believable and 'clean' and their music is all the better for it! 'Darker Corner' is absolutely typical of the techno-biased output from this brilliant duo that comprises Daniel Kent and Richard Wolfe; Moonshot don't do jarring, scratchy or obtuse, Moonshot do subtle, melancholic and melodic. Theirs is a rich and evocative sound that's pretty damn chilled, wonderfully creative and massively enjoyable.
'Darker Corners' by Moonshot is as beautiful as it is elegant, as restful as it is absorbing and as good as it gets - superb!!
