Moonshot

Single - Dirty Hands

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Dirty Hands' @ 'CD quality'

Taken from their latest album, 'Uncertain Weather', 'Dirty Hands' is a sort of Moonshot mid-ground electro-pop-rocker. Moonshot are always full of surprises; whether they're concentrating on dance vibes, hip-hop grinds or pure pop workouts, Moonshot go through the gamut in true genre blurring fashion.

Opening with pounding percussion before easing into a very 'pop' oriented outing, 'Dirty Hands' is an unashamedly Pet Shop Boys kinda thing; similarly slick and just as effectively catchy, 'Dirty Hands' is a good choice for a single as it has that all-encompassing, commercial feel to it. 'Dirty Hands' is a safe single for Moonshot - less experimental than a lot of their material, it aims to grab the attention quickly and leave an impression. But, there's a but....

What's weird for me is that I always saw Moonshot very much as an album band where they get loads of chances to get at yer but 'Dirty Hands' has to work as a stand-alone single and it has to make an impression quickly. Ok, it does all of that (here's that but...) but, I wonder whether it's just too much like the PSB and first time listeners will see Moonshot as a bit of a rip-off band. I hope that's not the case coz Moonshot aren't plagiarising, they're just doing what comes naturally to them and that just happens to come across as a close approximation of the Pet Shop Boys.

'Dirty Hands' by Moonshot has the potential to do well - only time will tell though!!
