Play 90 second soundbite of 'Amazing' @ 'CD quality'
Often sounding quite rock 'old school' Messenger power out their melodic rock wares with superb clarity and commercial sensibility. There's absolutely no doubting their knack for penning softish rock, memorable, riff laden 'chunes' with a penchant for catchy hooks. Messenger have a no apologies, almost blatant, approach to their 'smack-in-the-middle' rockin' way. Theirs is unadulterated pop/rock with the bias leaning heavily into the pop ethos.
Many have been there before and many will continue go there with varied success - Messenger's take is wholesome and easy on the ear, likeable for all the obvious reasons and enjoyable for it's relative simplicity and hookability. These guys don't pretend to be anything other than what they are - a solid and polished bunch of pop rockers - like fishermen sending out massive nets to try to haul in a catch as varied as it is productive - Messenger mean to pull in anyone they can and grow in stature and popularity through focus and attention to detail. 'Head For Glory' is superbly put together and says much about Messenger's quest for absolute precision and crystal clear delivery.
Messenger have all they need to make big strides in what is a fickle musical world; they write and perform rock that errs on the safe side but do it was massive aplomb and fortitude. Radio friendly and instantly likeable, Messenger send out positive messages and should reap the rewards for their focussed approach and no-nonsense, good time rock.
