Musical Christmas Card - Another Merry Christmas

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Another Merry Christmas' @ 'CD quality'

Well, here's yet another excellent piece of lo-fi electro indie pop rock from Worcestershire's mighty Meg in the form of a musical Christmas card single release that's better than any other sort of greeting I've received through the post this year.

'Another Merry Christmas' is Megatypically beautifully formed, Megatronically obtuse and wonderfully Megarich in form - all-in-all 'Another Merry Christmas' is pretty Mega! It's like a Xmas irony; unfestively unjolly but seasonally sumptuous - sweet as a nut and all the intoxicating intake you need! Yep, Meg have only strengthened my belief in them and showed once again that the Meg Music Machine is still well oiled and in fine working order.

I just love the way that the guys have managed to turn the whole jingle bellsy Xmas thing on its head and given it a complete new life away from the norm - 'Another Merry Christmas' is a razor-sharp piece of seasonal pleasure, superbly worked, ironically innovative and pretty much unputdownable. Nicely appointed electro-bells and multiple, tongue-in-cheek, Santa/Christmas references cleverly vie with gritty, non-seasonal instrumental sounds - but apart from that there's not too many other concessions to the more obvious and wildly over-used Christmas themes that I for one get totally pissed off with. It's typically Meg - it's unashamedly electro pop rock - it's pretty damn tasty!! And, me likes it - a lot!! (And I don't usually get off on Christmas music!)

'Another Merry Christmas' by Meg has great potential; if it's given decent support and canny promotion from some of the more influential sources out there, 'Another Merry Christmas' could actually work out very well for Meg - I'd love to hear this played on the hour, every hour on every radio station for the foreseeable future. Great stuff!!
