Again, it's been a while now but here, at last, is the latest Meg release in the form of 'The Lego Hair EP'. Boy, these guys have grown! Once I was unsure about Meg - now I'm convinced that Meg have everything nicely sorted and can compete with the best of 'em out there! Tasty stuff this!!

'The Lego Hair EP' is yet another piece of "lo-fi electro indie pop rock" from the band that have stuck together and created their very own sound; yes, the description of their music just given is of their own making but it's spot on. Meg do all of that and they do it beautifully!

'The Lego Hair EP' has a few surprises in store as it progresses; nothing distasteful, nothing untoward, just a few things that stop you in yer tracks and make yer listen and think (oh, some take a while to find, but they're there!). Meg stay true to their lo-fi tag again - for a band that take time over their songs you'd almost expect top notch production and true hi-fi qualities. Well, the lo-fi is the whole essence of Meg's work - they do produce their wares to a high standard - the low-fi's just a necessary requirement that works well for the futuristic sounding Meg. Meg just wouldn't be Meg without the 'lo'!!

So, what about 'The Lego Hair EP' then? Well, it's pretty brash. It's pretty bold. It's pretty different. And, it's amazingly likeable! Meg somehow keep coming up with well crafted songs that sometimes just shouldn't work. But, Meg always make 'em work - with their individualistic take on the genre Meg could easily be seen as forerunners, leaders and innovators. Meg have something that's almost indescribable yet massively compelling and most enjoyable.

'The Lego Hair EP' does the biz once again and it's difficult, if not impossible, to separate out any one track for discussion - it wouldn't be fair and anyway, it'd just be too difficult to choose! Suffice to say that every track is a star in this heavenly work!

For me' 'The Lego Hair EP' is their most cohesive and most enjoyable release to date. Not a bad track - always something to admire and think about - possibly as hi-fi as lo-fi can be without losing the 'gold'. Great songs performed with greater conviction and more confidence than I've ever heard from Meg. Hey, Meg's 'The Lego Hair EP' is a crackin' piece of work!!
