Play 90 second soundbite of 'Red Sky' by The Amateurs @ 'CD quality'
Robert Plant is the Patron of M.A.S. Records and he can be found exercising his vocal chords on a couple of tracks. The sleeve notes include this 'Mission Statement', "MAS Attack 3......Assembling the matrices of music from rock's powerplant and contemporary exponents, to the technologically driven laptop songsmiths, interspersed with snapshots of the urban dance utopia, all slipping and sliding in and out of the eclectic mix. No musical style is the style." And that, totally sums up this excellent package!
There really is a positive cornucopia of musical genres here; from the contemporary folksy thing of King Rich to the easy country of The Murmur, to the relaxed lamenting of The Amateurs, to the powerhouse rock of B-Movie Heroes, the gut wrenching metal of Weak13 and the world music....and the urban....and the hip-hop stylee kinda thingy etc, etc - it goes on! 'MAS Attack 3' is available from MAS Records at the give-away price of £10 and if you're the sort of guy or gal that likes to know what's out there then it's gotta be worth the investment.
Hopefully, MAS will continue to spread the word through the excellent medium of the sampler CD - its good for the artists, the industry and the public alike.
