Play 90 second soundbite of 'In The Interest Of Absolution' @ 'CD quality'
This well crafted four track EP takes the listener on a heavyweight journey to heaven and hell and back again. The tracks are varied enough to stand alone or, as is the case here, sit comfortably with each other. The guys play with polished professionalism that sounds well practiced. Five play as one.
However, as good as this release is, I still have a bit of a problem with the whole metal genre nowadays in so far as too many bands seem to be sounding too much alike. I suppose Lynchpin have a slight edge with their melodic thing but I just wonder how long it can go on before someone really drags something fresh into the genre to stir things up and freshen the whole thing.
That said, Lynchpin sound like a band that's pretty much got it nailed and 'In The Interest Of Absolution' is a cracking release of its type.
