Play 90 second soundbite of 'Luxembourg vs Great Britain' @ 'CD quality'
Precise, almost choir-like vocals tell the stories with amazing clarity as the beautifully penned and executed keys and guitars drive, punctuate and emphasize. The solid rhythm section keeps things effortlessly simple but very very effective allowing the clever songs to be fully appreciated. 'Luxembourg vs Great Britain' and 'The Exhibitionist' demonstrate the pacier, more raunchy side of Luxembourg whilst track three, 'About Time' takes things down with a gutsy little slowburner that's just superb and flawless.
Luxembourg remind me a little of very early Roxy Music both in style and delivery. I can also sense a little Comedy Of Errors thing goin' on particularly in the lyrical content and structure. Both aforementioned bands managed to make it and I can't see why Luxembourg shouldn't follow in their footsteps. Commercially spot-on, Luxembourg appear to be going down a road that should end in bright lights, loads of work and wide acceptance.
