The Los Perros D'mor press pack warns that this outfit should be taken with a 'pinch of salt'. I disagree, Los Perros D'mor are taking electro dance music to another level by combining infectious Latin influences into funk laden electro grooves. And, I suppose, what better combination could you have? After all, Latin and Cuban rhythms have long been recognised as the daddies of dance.

Ok, Los Perros D'mor push the boat out a bit lyrically and bring a bit of humour to what is all too often a very seriously staid genre. But that just adds meat to their bone!! What's important here is not what these guys sing about, it's what they lay down instrumentally. And boy, do Los Perros D'mor lay down some seriously good stuff. The awesome combination of 'traditional' seamlessly fused with the 'contemporary' works superbly.

Using 'real' instruments alongside the more genre-normal electronics, Los Perros D'mor are creating sounds and vibes that're fresh and exciting. Latin music relies heavily on percussive grooves and Los Perros D'mor bring that feature to their 'sparkling' table of plenty. The genre cross-over doesn't stop with Latin/electro though; Los Perros D'mor chuck in house, acid, funk, hip hop, jazz and plenty more to come up with their foot tappingly likeable musical wares.

'Puta Madre' is an inspired work. It's great 'summer' music - happy, bright, refreshing and very sparkly! 'Puta Madre' just works so bloody well!! And, coz of the multiple influences therein, 'Puta Madre' should appeal to all sorts of folk. It's a most enjoyable and compelling piece of work from start to finish. Great stuff - clever, innovative and a refreshingly interesting take on 'modern' dance music.
