Play 90 second soundbite of 'Make That Dough' @ 'CD quality'
'ATL' is essentially urban rap, as you might expect. But it's more than that; the whole edict behind the project allows a coming together of extremely talented artists, to meld together and show exactly what can be done if you put your mind to it. There are few 'guest' artists and 'big gun' backroom boys involved to throw their experience and knowledge into the enormous melting pop. The result, I have to say, is quite stunning. Sure, it's rap and not particularly my thing. Ok, it's also R&B - again, not my thing. But, I do appreciate what's goin' down here. There's some fantastic 'orchestrations', stunning arrangements and the 'collective' writing and performing is absolutely spot on. It's really hard to fault anything about this work - whether it's your bag or not!
'ATL' by London Urban Collective III won't convert me to become a street-wise, R&B rap man - oh no! But, It's a really tidy piece of work in every sense and I do actually like it - very much!
To pull out any one individual track would be totally wrong but, there are several tracks on offer here that are extremely commercial, to the point where I could easily see big sales if promoted properly. And, let's face it, music is music no matter what its genre. More to the point, good music that's accessible is global and all-embracing. 'ATL' is just that - an impressive piece of global music that deserves to get massive exposure. Superb work!
