Play 90 second soundbite of 'Fake A Smile' @ 'CD quality'
'Enter My Religion' is melodic and thoughtful pop at its proudest and brightest; it's full of charm and musical charisma. It's beautifully produced and stunningly performed. As she vocally glides through the twelve tracks Liv Kristine's approach to her craft is full of self-belief and professionalism. She sounds a bit like Moya Brennan sings pop and Kate Bush sings folk - but her distinctive voice and powerful delivery make her somehow unique and very, very likeable. This lady has an approach which is smoothly slick and very easy on the ear. Kristine pens most of the lyrics with Espanaes Krull and calls on the help of 'friends' to compose the music; music which often contains touches of the middle-East set amidst very western rock and folk tinged melodies. Kristine even takes on a superbly arranged version of Bruce Springsteen's 'Streets Of Philadelphia' that she makes totally her own. Nice work indeed!!
Without doubt 'Enter My Religion' is a work of pure class. With plenty of variation to get to grips 'Enter My Religion' keeps the listener guessing - Bush-esque, subtle variations that flit in and out of genre bending themes, all tied together with flair and attention to detail. This really is a most impressive piece of work. Liv Kristine has all the right attributes to 'crack' the UK market and if 'Enter My Religion' is typical then I can't wait to hear more from this enchanting songstress.
