This demo showcases just how multi-facetted Lexie's voice is; she's captured here belting out big ballads, getting down to phatt funky grooves, touching heartstrings with slick blues, bustin' out to massive soul vibes and givin' it some truth with gospel outpourings. Quite obviously a brilliant all-rounder, Lexie is surely destined to become the next British (soul) diva (if it's actually the soul road she finally chooses to take!). Lexie takes it all in her stride, nothing's a bridge too far for this quite exceptional vocal talent - and she's still got some growing and learning to do yet - scary stuff!! Perhaps at times Lexie should just let go a touch and forget pure diction - sometimes less is more and perhaps Lexie should just let herself emote through 'common' language of the day - it's quite acceptable nowadays and may just help Lexie to reach a wider audience.
As a demo, this seven track work tells anyone everything they will ever need to know about Lexie - this is polished, beautifully crafted and very professional. Lexie's ability to mix up the genre is staggering; she seems totally in control no matter how she has to present her voice. Lexie does low-down and subtlety emotional just as well as she does big, bold and glossy. Everything seems such a breeze for Lexie Stobie as she delivers the goods with well proportioned power and superbly empathetic emotion. Perhaps at some time Lexie will need to specialise somewhere within a chosen genre in order to maximise her potential. But, maybe this incredibly talented young lady will find a way to bring us just whatever's in her heart at any given time in her musical life and continue to show her versatility.
