Rock solid musically and often thought provoking lyrically, Komanchi Tribe do what they do exceptionally well - tonight was no exception!! They kicked of with 'Intro' and proceeded to blast their way through a massive performance that never seemed to falter. 'Running With Demons', 'Drug', '30 Seconds', 'My Misery' & 'Wormtrip' plus several others followed all contriving to stir up the moshing hoards. The lads just kept the night moving along - they obviously love what they do and it showed. High quality songs performed with an energy that spilled out into the crowd.
Komanchi Tribe are so solid and tight that it hurts!! I've seen them six times in as many months and they've never failed to perform to the highest standard. Just how they keep going is beyond me; soaked with sweat, looking drained, they pace never slips. Yes, they do vary tempo throughout the set but the energy and commitment is ever present - good visually, a powerhouse package that shines way above most of their contemporaries. In his performance, Dive manages to communicate and interact with his audience and his growling vocals are complimented by the fiercely aggressive yet unfussy rhythm section. The songs are structured and nicely rounded and Watti puts in some superb lead riffs which add something a little special to the mix. The arrangements are fantastic and this alone puts Komanchi Tribe on a higher platform than most bands in the same genre.
The band consists, Dale (Dive) David - vocals, Kieran (Ran) Edwards - drums, Pete (Muller) Moulam - rhythm guitar & backing vocals, Dave (Shadey) Stevens - bass and Al (Watti) Watt - lead guitar. The five seem to be great friends as well as just band members. Off stage, they came across as really nice, polite guys which somehow seemed in contradiction to their powerful and aggressive stage presence.
Once again, Komanchi Tribe proved to me that they were deserving winners of BOTB and I wish them well for the future. I'm sure that with a bit of luck their music will soon be noticed in high places and they'll get the break that they deserve.
