Play 90 second soundbite of 'Going Just To Be Going' @ 'CD quality'
'Going Just To Be Going' is a beautifully rounded and polished piece of work. Kinzli has an amazingly sensual voice with a natural vibrato and crystal clear delivery. Her writing is nothing short of pure musical poetry set to inspired, genre-challenging music. Her songs that slip effortlessly in and out of nu-jazz are up-lifting and cleverly tantalising; fresh sounding, vibrant and stunningly different!
Kinzli certainly keeps the listener guessing as she skips brightly and lightly through this impressive set of twelve stunning songs. Eclectic - certainly. Varied - most definitely. Challenging - well yes, but never to the detriment of the album as a whole. Her arrangements are open and accessible allowing all the beautiful and subtle instrumental nuances to enhance rather than detract from her great writing and massively impressive voice. This is a very impressive and extremely likeable piece of work. Kinzli's got a way about her that's radio friendly and refreshingly memorable; given the right sort of exposure and air play I could easily see Kinzli opening a few eyes and ears to her infectious musical way. Just like a few years ago when Terry Wogan championed the late, great Eva Cassidy on Radio 2, I can see someone with influence and passion championing this new and wondrous performer - Kinzli!!
'Going Just To Be Going' by the gifted Kinzli is more than a bit special - Kinzli's whole approach to her craft is bold and adventurous but classy and totally compelling. Although pushing at genre boundaries, the eclectic nature of her work provides a great safety net and opens up whole new musical horizons. Kinzli's an exceptional artist and this is an exceptional album!
