Kinky Durakee

Single - Dedication

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Dedication' @ 'CD quality'

Another great sounding release from the wonderfully named Kinky Durakee comes in the form of the impressive and catchy 'Dedication'. 'Dedication' comes packaged with two more excellent 'tracks', 'The Things We Fear The Most' and a video of 'Dedication' - great value and damn tasty stuff!

With excellent female vocals, that remind me of a sexy and 'ballsy' Stevie Nicks and get the heart racing, set against solid and punchy guitar work and simplistic but nicely effective percussion and bass, 'Dedication' is an annoyingly infectious little slow rocker that thumps along and gets at yer right from the off with it's wah-wah intro. Beautifully constructed, played and recorded 'Dedication' works no matter how many db's you give it. Pretty commercial and certainly radio friendly it's a piece that gets your head noddin' along as it drills its way into yer brain. The 'B' side is very Fleetwood Mac in its feel, gently raunchy and again superbly handled. With just a hint of jangly nu-country/blues 'The Things We Fear The Most' is more of a double 'A' side work than a pure support work. Equally as listenable and just as catchy it shows how classy Kinky Durakee are. They surely must have thought long and hard to decide which track should take starring role - not that it matters coz they're both outstanding anyway!

'Dedication' and 'The Things We Fear The Most' by Kinky Durakee have rockin' pop sensibility running straight through 'em. But, they're much more than simply 'pop' - these aint yer banal, one minute wonder kinda tracks, these are maturely written and beautifully crafted works that deserve to get wider recognition for the 'guys'. The two great songs leave the listener in no doubt about the all-round musical prowess of Kinky Durakee and their ability to come up with quality goods - songs that have wide ranging appeal and memorability. Great stuff!
