Play 90 second soundbite of 'Bottom Dollar' @ 'CD quality'

I've said it before and now I'll say it again - Kingskin sure know how to funk up rock!! 'Rhyme For Smalltime' is a positive blast of hard rockin' funked-up indie that's as compelling as it is innovative.

Four-piece Kingskin have assembled eleven chunes here that run from bright and breezy to gritty and downright dirty; masses of growlin' riffs, great chunks of chuggin' bass and shed-loads of expressive percussion, the whole loaded with oodles of powerful gritty, grinding vocals - end result, a bloody impressive album from a bloody impressive outfit. It's grungy, it's bluesy, it's poppy, it's commercial genius, it's like an inspired coming together of great chunks of our current multi-faceted music scene...and then some!

Kingskin may like to mess with around funk but they're also more than just a little adept at takin' it on down real smooth and cool; the light and shade within this album acts as a nice balancing tool that lifts 'Rhyme For Smalltime' from just another funk rock album to something quite special and offers a real chance to max out the vol and tear down the even the most robust of walls. Certainly, Kingskin are hard to ignore as they pound away at the senses with dedicated drive and awesome conviction. 'Rhyme For Smalltime' reminds me of INXS with proper big balls vying with Nirvana on speed!! Hey, and that can't be bad!!

Already well established and with a mighty impressive following, Kingskin will only pull in more fans and open more doors with this workhorse of an album. Their repertoire is growing all the time and I'm sure Kingskin could hold their own on any arena stage and would certainly compliment any of our 'headliners' with their intelligent take on grungy funk. And that's not to sat that Kingskin couldn't headline in their own right - of course they could, these boys have what it takes to be massive.

'Rhyme For Smalltime' by Kingskin is actually a debut album - I find that amazing even though I'm aware of their pedigree. This doesn't sound like a debut, this is head and shoulders above the debut norm! And, cleverly, you could take almost any one of the tracks here and it'd make a great single for the boys - impressive writing added to impressive execution makes for one helluva hefty entity - Kingskin's selling potential surely is massive. 'Rhyme For Smalltime' by Kingskin answers all the questions in no uncertain terms; a brilliant, vibrant album from a band that's surely only got one way to move now - upwards!!
