Play 90 second soundbite of 'It's For real' @ 'CD quality'
Kenza lays down her distinctive voice with a natural and flowing sensitivity. 'It's For Real' seems the gently float from the speakers with voice, keys and strings blended to perfection against a simplistic but very effective percussive vibe. Even as the short interlude of hip hop/rap cruises in the overall smoothness of the song is not disturbed or misdirected. I'm no expert on the very popular genre but this certainly sounds up there with the front-runners.
This really is a well crafted work; the production is shit hot which allows Kenza's whole musical being to be appreciated to the max; the songwriting, arrangement and performance. Kenza sounds like she's building a pretty solid foundation for herself and 'It's For real' clearly demonstrates her slick and professional attitude. Kenza has a voice that, although fully suited to the whole R&B/soul medium, could easily take her into other musical realms; the quality's right there and plain to hear and surely the future is rosy for this young lady.
