This is a totally absorbing piece of work that showcases to the nth degree the talent of this wonderful young singer/songwriter. As soon as 'Summer Season' kicks things off you just know that this is gonna be great!! Although the pace and mood constantly change throughout the dozen tracks there's absolutely no respite from the power and passion of Joan's mighty vocal chords. Here, she's given just about every ounce of backing that a solo artist can get. It's never over done, never becomes too much. Everything is perfectly poised and balanced behind those ooh sooo good vocals.
Sitting snugly into the contemporary folk niche Joan Coffey shows her no apologies approach as she carefully picks her way through each great, solid track. The quality never falls below the 'this is seriously good' mark - not for one single moment! Now London based, Joan somehow manages to retain her subtle Irish 'twang' as she sings her heart out.
