Play 90 second soundbite of 'The Real Thing' @ 'CD quality'
Scott's ability to sensitively vocalise the whole gamut of emotions is pretty spectacular. Her slick voice can be sweet and sensual one moment then gutsy and forceful the next - this lady is something else altogether! And, with fifteen tracks running out at just over fifty minutes, 'The Real Thing : Words & Sounds Vol 3' gives Jill Scott plenty of time and space to show just what she can do with her amazing voice - and boy does she do the biz - big style! This is a class act and she's delivered a very classy album here; fifteen scintillating tracks to blow you away, fifty minutes of musical mastery - Jill Scott nails it good and tight - stunning!!
'The Real Thing : Words & Sounds Vol 3' is massive in every respect; stunning composition and absolutely fantastic arrangements ensure that Scott is more than adequately supported and driven. As the album unfolds, Scott takes you to heaven and back as she silkily delivers her lyrics with stunning sensitivity and mind-numbing clarity. As she crosses and blurs genre, Scott makes 'grown up' music accessible to the unsuspecting masses. By keeping one eye squarely focussed on the classier end of the market she'll certainly appeal to the purists - but, this lady manages to inject more than a touch of commercial sensibility into her jazzy art and several tracks here have 'hit' streaked right through them and those that don't, are just too damn good to be 'hits'!!
Jill Scott's 'The Real Thing : Words & Sounds Vol 3' is absolutely the real deal - quality through and through - polished to perfection, lovingly honed and supremely performed. A majestic piece of work that's just about as good as it gets - shit hot!!
