Play 90 second soundbite of 'Out Of Our Hands' @ 'CD quality'
'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You' is typically bustin' with great, energetic punkish songs, wonderfully proportioned guitar riffs, metronomically accurate percussion, stonkin' bass and some cleverly delivered and hence understandable vocals. And, in a nutshell, that's really all you need to know about this album. But, in true Toxic tradition I'll set off on a course of journalistic ramblings to try to encourage you lot to seek out Immoral and try out their wares.
Ok, Immoral sell themselves as a punk/metal band from Watford - pretty accurate description as it 'appens - but perhaps there's just a little bit more to Immoral than that 'tag' suggests. Sure these guys play with all the pace, aggression and observational content that's associated with good old punk. Sure, Immoral carefully drift towards 'metal' but, for me, they pull up just short, in fact well short, of full-on metal mayhem and edge slickly towards good old 70's style rock and its stereotypical scorchin' guitar riffs. Yes, I see Immoral as a great bunch of bellowing rocksters with punkish attitude. Immoral are great musicians, they write tasty songs and they put a great deal of thought and loving care and attention into the 'end product' with carefully crafted liner notes, lyrics sheet, impressive artwork and an overall touch of true professionalism.
With 'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You', Immoral once more give you a beautifully proportioned chunk of modernistic, high octane, maturely executed and sensibly commercial 'blood'n'guts' rock'n'roll...and then some!! Oh, and just a couple of interesting twists here and there!! 'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You' strengthens the case for Immoral - it may have taken three years to come up with a follow-up to 'Another World Away' but I don't think it was necessarily monetary matters that caused the delay, I get the impression that Immoral waited until they were absolutely happy with the new material and took their time to strive for perfection and 'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You' fully justifies the long wait!!
'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You' by Immoral is 'street rock' for the everyone, not just for the rock'n'roll youth, not just for the rock'n'roll student', but for the rock'n'roll masses! 'Speak, Or They Will Speak For You' is totally professional from conception to final packaging and a credit to the whole Immoral team.
