Not a local band - they're from Huddersfield, and deserve a mention!!

I really only went because of Marzy's description in his gig listings. Not my sort of music really but thought her indoors would enjoy the night!

Wrong!! We both enjoyed the night; and so would the other 200 or so if they'd bothered to turn up! It was such a shame that more didn't go - they were excellent. From the moment they walked on stage ("...lookin' good in their suits etc..." commented Carl the sound guy), I knew they were going to be something a little special. What a great sound, what a great mix, what a together band!!

The whole visual thing was great with Ned alternating between highly animated guitar/vox to even more animated vox only. Mr.Snoozy must've been knackered as well with all that standing up/sitting down as he also alternated instruments - this time trumpet to keys. Don't misunderstand me, I haven't forgotten the rest of the band - they all played their parts throughout (also animated performances all round!).

Oh, and then there's the album, 'Pull'. Superb, I've already played it several times, it just smacks of professionalism - it's production is top notch. The album also gave me a second chance to listen for and read the lyrics. Had I really heard such lines as, 'Your mother sucks monkeys on the supermarket car park...' and 'I said to the Lord, "Can you ride a bicycle?"...' and 'I'm a detonating dude that you'd only wished you'd screwed...'???? Well it seems like that's exactly what I'd heard - what brilliant lyrics - not the sort of verbiage I'd expected to hear from a "...souly funky dance music ideal for a girls night out..." (Marzy gig list description) sort of band.
