Hudson Fall

EP - The Factory

Play 90 second soundbite of 'The Factory' @ 'CD quality'

Wirral based Hudson Fall's latest release is an extremely cute and beautifully put together little three track EP called 'The Factory'; British indie rock through and through 'The Factory' is a bright and impressive work that allows Hudson Fall to show their collective worth - and it sure does its job! This is a quality release and really deserves success!

Right from the start Hudson Fall show that they've got a big and pretty powerful sound that's bulked out by their brilliant use of keyboards to bolster their attack and add depth and dynamics. Generally, Hudson Fall have a sound that sits somewhere on the lighter side of the Oasis thing; again, the use of keys sets them apart from the aforementioned and allows Hudson Fall the chance to be individualistic and fresh sounding - not an Oasis copy but Hudson Fall in their own right. They inject emotion without over-doing things which makes 'The Factory' very believable and most impressive. Although they develop a very rich and full sound, Hudson Fall's attention to detail and focus on practicality means that their songs should be pretty much reproducible in the live scenario - great writing and thoughtful execution!

The three songs here, 'The Factory', 'Heaven' and 'Afraid Of The Dark' are extremely well written and beautifully crafted; Hudson Fall write with maturity and they show a great understanding of dynamics and audio separation - 'The Factory' is mixed and produced to be crisp, clear and pretty damn punchy. Hudson Fall sound like a really focussed and confident bunch; 'The Factory' is blessed with a high standard of 'finish' that suggests these guys are not only knowledgeable but practically minded - 'The Factory' is polished and very professional, everything is just so and they've refused to be drawn into over-production and/or over-indulgence. It really is well done!!

I very much like what I've heard of Hudson Fall through these three impressive and tantalising tracks; Hudson Fall sound and feel like a band that knows its strengths and uses those skills to bring out their best both individually and collectively. 'The Factory' by Hudson Fall is certainly up there with the big boys in every department - exposure and a bit of good luck could see Hudson Fall start to reap the rewards they so justly deserve. Great music from a really impressive band!! One to watch out for - without a doubt!
