Honey Ryder

Single - Numb

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Numb (Radio Edit)' @ 'CD quality'

Now, here's an outfit that like to cover all bases to ensure their music gets into the hearts and minds of folk no matter where they are or what they're doing! Honey Ryder is duo Martyn Shone and Lindsay O'Mahony and between them they've concocted a beautifully versatile musical style which is offered here as three completely different but equally compelling versions of 'Numb'.

Opening with the 'Radio Edit', Honey Ryder take the listener into Dido-esque territory with a slightly dark but extremely slick take. Superbly commercial and every inch a winner, 'Numb (Radio Edit)' is classy and somewhat timeless in feel. It's a slow cruise but a stunningly vibrant one - absolutely right and ready for any radio station to pounce on and play on the hour, every hour - this 'radio' version is my personal favourite and I'd describe it as sleepily brilliant and totally intoxicating.

Not content to take the general public by storm, Honey Ryder next give you 'Papercuts Ibiza Mix' - and hey guess what, a full-on dance anthem stylee for the steamin hot, laser lit dancefloor and anyone even half interested in things 'dance-able'. Certainly one to shake and gyrate all that excess weight that you keep goin' on about - this'll shift it!! Ok, so we've done 'radio' and we've done 'dance', so what's next ? Well, then there's the 'Long Beach Mix' which kicks in to close this rather tasty and diverse single release. This one's absolutely brilliant for those long hot summer nights - a slow, smoochy dance, a chill by the pool, anything that releases pressure and brings blessed release from the day's chores.

Diverse isn't just a word! Honey Ryder give you proper diverse with this gloriously flexible song, 'Numb'. Three entirely different 'chunes' - three entirely different moods - three entirely different grooves. And seriously, I don't think I've ever heard a more malleable song - one that works equally well in three totally different theatres - brilliant!! Definitely one for the summer but I'm sure it'll still be around for the cooler seasons too - great work!!
