CD - A Thousand Nights

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Black Rain' @ 'CD quality'

'A Thousand Nights' is the debut album from the much respected German Producer Gregor Tresher - it's a gently persuasive work of electronic dance tracks that takes in most of the more subtle nuances of contemporary dance genre as it pounds out slick vibes that sit somewhere within the generality of tech-house/trance/atmospheric/minimal.

'A Thousand Nights' is a fairly trippy kinda work that has that, hard to describe but, annoyingly catchy leaning. Pulsating yet rhythmic and melodic, 'A Thousand Nights' scratches its way under yer skin and tends to sit there to excite the nerve endings; there's nothing jarring or hideously outrageous here - it's all very slick and extremely, if irritatingly, easy on the ear. So hypnotic are some of the pieces that they seem to go on for ever and ever. But, none of the tracks a actually over-long - they just seem to get inside you and linger there making time slow down. Very pleasurable, very chilled!!

What I like particularly about Gregor Tresher's 'A Thousand Nights' is its inherent calming nature and although much of the album is trance inducing, there's such a great vibe going on that all the tracks still work as full-on dance 'anthems' - clever stuff - sort of modern-day classical composition that utilises every aspect of the digital age and targets the club scene and the stay at home modern musical adventurists alike. 'A Thousand Nights' by Gregor Tresher is a classy album that's gonna do just fine on the dance scene but will work equally well in the home as something to relax to and help you forget the challenges of every day life. Great work!!
