Girls On Film

Demo

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Girls On Film' @ 'CD quality'

Fact - Girls On Film are a great live duo. QED - Can Girls On Film translate their natural energy and vibrancy, their flamboyant almost brutal approach, onto disc. Well, by the looks of it, they certainly can!! As I listened to this stonkin' demo, the ballsy attitude and contagious sense of fun was bordering on tangible, I almost felt that the boys were in the room with me.

Girls On Film are a splinter band from Worcester's pop-rockers And What Will Be Left Of Them? Comprising Pete Adams (guitar and vox) & Chris Wemyss (drums & vox), Girls On Film are like music's answer to Laurel and Hardy with their infectious and comedic take on clatter pop. They thrive on raucous, adrenalin fuelled energy and biting, bad taste humour. They can write a bit and play a bit too as this short but sweet demo demonstrates. Three punchy tracks, two originals ('Girls On Film' and 'Break') and one Pogues cover ('Waxies Dargle') is all it takes to get the GOF message and start the search for more recordings - you won't find any though as I believe this to be their debut release.

Without doubt, Girls On Film had to at least try to get their laddish enthusiasm and boisterous, fun element across in any recording they chose to do; it's such a part of the whole as to be completely necessary, all part and parcel of the Girls On Film performing ethos. This demo, I think, gets the job done pretty well and as you listen you can just taste the sweat and feel bond between these two extremely likeable characters. Girls On Film don't do anything too pretty; it's all very much in yer face and take it or leave it. I guess there'll be loads of takers and just a few leavers.

Clatterholicks, Adams and Wemyss aka Girls On Film are seemingly unstoppable in their quest to break down genre barriers and bring real, honest music once again to the fore. With this demo you are left in no doubt as to what Girls On Film are about - hopefully, this demo is just the forerunner to an album of some sort - now that should be interesting!!
