Future Native

Single - Superman

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Superman' @ 'CD quality'

'Superman' is the latest release from hard gigging Australian folk rockers Future Native. It's a simply constructed, bright sounding ditty about parenting; many of you will relate to the 'joys' of watching your cute little daughter grow and change in front of your very eyes - that's 'Superman'.

P J & Melanie Creamer skilfully interchange acoustic guitar and mandolin, the latter being, in the main, responsible for the bright attack of the piece. Meanwhile, Scott Phillips gently brushes his syncopated drums with precision and heart. P J Creamer's distinctive vocal style is aptly lyrically sensitive. Perhaps suited best to the more middle of the road (no disrespect) road radio networks aimed towards the family listeners, 'Superman' is thusly commercial and will appeal to the more mature listener rather than the home-grown rocker.

'Superman' is not yer average 'get out of bed with yer head on fire' pop tune; rather, it's a quaintly likeable and very catchy piece that feels as if it's got a hint of summer and plenty of staying power.
