From The Ashes

Demo - Rise Inside

Play 90 second soundbite of '1987' @ 'CD quality'

This demo was entered into the 2006 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Demo Competition

Within literally seconds of pressing the 'play' button I started to get hooked on this Midlands based outfit. Almost immediately I started to realise that From The Ashes are very special - not just within their genre but globally special. They sound as though they're capable of spreading out, from their very own Midlands ground-zero, in ever increasing circles to engulf and contaminate the rest of the country with their massive full-on sound. Rooted deep in metal mayhem and bursting with big, melodic riffs their anthem-like songs and breathtaking musicianship tear at senses and rattle your insides. This is one Tsunami of a band!

Although there's only three tracks here, '1987', 'Scum' and 'Rise inside', the whole experience feels much bigger and longer. This is an enormously powerful musical excursion; a bit like riding on the wall of death in the pouring rain - this could cause serious damage to your health if not taken seriously and with due care and attention.

From reading their press I can see that From The Ashes are already making quite a name for themselves - now I see why!! This is music that you simply cannot ignore. Brash, bold guitars scream out their super-charged riffs as the vocalist pulls unbelievably diverse voices from somewhere deep inside himself and the rhythm section, one of seemingly gargantuan proportions, punch out their solid backdrop with precision and force. All tracks are impressively crafted to bring out every aspect and every minute detail of this hideously, outrageously impressive outfit and their songs. I believe that good music can reach out to just about anyone and such is the quality here that even the metal disbelievers should find this a work to appreciate.

As the tracks progress I find myself becoming totally absorbed and seriously addicted to From The Ashes. My God this is good! And, if the three tracks here are typical then From The Ashes are indeed a force to be reckoned with. Ok, I believe what I've read - it's not hype, it's not bullshit - From The Ashes are absolutely fantastic!!

Bloody marvellous!!
