'This Is So Powerful' only has one real weakness - the actual recording; there's so much more to come from this bright new 'star' in terms of production and polish. Flo lays down six really impressive songs here and performs them all with positivity and relish. Flo's gradually picking up friends locally on the acoustic scene and her name crops up more often than most lately - and I can now see why! This girl is an exciting prospect and one to watch out for.
Unlike many acoustic artists currently out there, Flo Rowland is doing things her own way and in her very own style. Her chunes are quite 'ballsy' and raw sounding and Flo's voice ranges from femininely sweet to savagely dusky depending on the 'moment' and the theme. What she does, she does extremely well - she keeps her songs simple but potent and gets her words across very well.
With 'This Is So Powerful', Flo Rowland has impressed me with her individuality and penchant for the acoustically diverse. Certainly, I'll be watching out for Flo Rowland and keeping an ear to the ground to see how she progresses - A bit special methinks!
