'Gravity Calling' is a pretty fantastic album when it all comes down; Flipron's great attitude towards blessing the music business with something just a little bit different shines clear and bright. 'Gravity Calling' mixes up the styles but always provides a foot-tapping backdrop to jig along to. Lyrically the boys have come up trumps yet again with a blend of serious and tongue-in-cheek narratives that add a sparkle to your day and raise a smile no matter what side of the bed you got out of. Beautifully assembled, 'Gravity Calling' builds on Flipron's mature but sassy nature and provides much to enjoy and loads to admire. As each track ends I'm left wondering what the hell is coming next; I'm never disappointed though - as each subsequent track unfolds I find things that throw mental switches and blow soft-tissue fuses leaving me in a dazed but happy state.
Flipron's lighter side of pop rock might just prove to be the thing the holds them back from their 'glorious summer' though which would be a shame cuz we all need a bit of relaxed respite from the attitudinal punkish stereotypes and the drudge of hard-nose social commentary. Come on World, wake up and smell Flipron's coffee - we need bands like this to bring cheer and merriment to our depression ridden, recession thwarted lives at the moment. Flipron could be just the medicine within the music world that we are all seeking to move forward with positivity and optimism. Flipron's way is charm personified; they have a whole new take on what proper pop music should be and they play their little socks off to achieve it.
'Gravity Calling' by Flipron will do well amongst the more open-minded music lover, the ones who can see the bigger picture rather than just following the flow like sheep. The album is superbly conceived and finely honed to put new spring in our step and fresh baccy in our pipe. Clever, classy songs here performed with precision and finesse; the band is brilliant and the songs are typically British with a huge chunk of frolicking rockin' pop thrown in for good measure. All I expected it to be and probably more than I needed it to be, 'Gravity Calling' by Flipron is a superbly crafted piece of modern pop pleasure - stunning lyrics slotted beautifully into empathetically composed scores, all executed with passion, proportion and proper pop professionalism. Great stuff - music to make you happy, music for everyone!
