Play 90 second soundbite of 'Toxic Tourist' @ 'CD quality'

Flint are a five piece, high standard Indie Rock band from the Birmingham/Black Country area. Formed in 1999 the band are Aaron Kyle (vocals), Martin White (lead guitar, keyboards and vocal), Greg Masters (guitar & vocals), Phil Kavanagh (bass guitar) and Kev Andrews (drums). Their influences appear to be wide ranging which reflects in Martin White's song writing if these four tracks are anything to go by.

The opening track 'Turn Around' starts with a slightly funky intro which is soon embellished by some well arranged lead and rhythm guitar. The funky rhythm and lead theme continues behind the great vocals of Aaron. The tight rhythm section pushes the song along to great effect. Second comes 'Toxic Tourist' which has a real hook to it (but there again, all four tracks here are like that). This track shows that Aaron had a great vocal range and its almost guaranteed to get you joining in; I know that after only one play I kept on singing the chorus to myself over and over again for several days - it's one of those songs! Track three is 'Smartshoes' which hits you straight in the face with its opening bars and then nurses you back to health for the rest of the song as it grooves along nicely with its guitar work.

Track four is the excellent 'Sometimes' - a slower and very melodic piece with a superb orchestral feel (presumably Martins' keyboards) and very much in the Oasis mould. Clever thinking here by the band as they have added an into and outro to this number straight from Beacon Radio - Mmmm nice idea for a demo lads! I think that overall this has to my favourite of the tracks (even with the intro/outro).

Flint have used their demo to good effect and I'm sure that if properly managed and promoted it'll do them proud. Yes, there's a definite Oasis feel to all the tracks - but that's not such a bad thing is it?

Overall, a great demo and I will definitely look out for them on the road.
