Play 90 second soundbite of 'Skinny' @ 'CD quality'
Typically hard-driven and positively throbbin' with electric energy, 'The Very Best Things' showcases the band's super-charged, adrenalin fuelled rock that teeters on the brink of metal but never actually crosses the great divide, preferring to stay within the confines of the safety net that commercially viable heavy rock offers. Filter's grunge tinged rock is built on an industrially precise percussive barrage that's further strengthened by seismic bass work and scathing guitars basking in a steamy soundscape of rich electronic sounds. This great compilation offers the listener the chance of sampling the many facets of this outstanding band; from the rancid depths of the terrifyingly dark to the gloriously balladic and commercially weighted anthemic rock, Filter show their collective strengths and penchant for a fuckin' good song! Sample the delights of Filter's exceptionally well arranged rock masterpieces, drink in their often dark but always expressive rock-sided and monstrously proportioned songs, enjoy once again Filter's magnificently delivered classic rock offerings - not to be missed this one - a must-have album!!
As a sampler of Filter's awesome and pretty all-encompassing rock music, 'The Very Best Things' is right on the money and opens up the doors to their cavernous hoard of tasty rock offerings from across the years! This is an album that begs to be played loud and proud; it grows in intensity as the db's increase - turn the bugger up 'til it melts the wax in yer ears and you'll be sampling Filter in all their outlandish power and density.
Ok, so maybe established and faithful Filter fans won't actually feel the need to take this 'best of' option but, there should be many new takers out there, Filter virgins, who will feel the need when they hear what's on offer. Of course, it'll need some good promo and radio play to get the message across but that shouldn't be a problem as there are loads of really radio-friendly tracks for the 'jocks' to push out. 'The Very Best Things' by Filter is a fantastic compilation album and deserves to do well and help re-kindle the raging fire that is Filter. It don't get much better folks - now aint that the truth!!
