Exoterik

CD - Don't Swallow

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Salvation' @ 'CD quality'

Great album!! Exoterik, as the name might suggest, are a dark rock outfit, not metal, just wonderfully balanced atmospheric rock with balls and guts. Tuneful, melodic, atmospheric, punchy and blindingly compelling, a real blast to head bang along to as you wait for the coffin to be delivered in anticipation of granny's demise after she inadvertently played Exoterik by mistake thinking it was the soundtrack to 'Exodus' - what-a-mistake-a-to-make-a!!

Slashing guitars and crunchin' chords, whining and expressive keys, drums that talk, bass that walks and vocals that cry, a band of enormous strength, unfathomable depth and progressive versatility - all this and more you get with the wonderful Exoterik. Erring on the subtle side of metal and decidedly more melodic that that genre, Exoterik drop massive chunks of rock goodies from great heights to smash around you and reform into tidy bits of well constructed, beautifully executed earthy rock with feeling and direction.

Exoterik play with expressive emotion as they darken your mind with fluid, molten rock of enormous strength and integrity - bitter-sweet anthemic overtures for the modern age. Theirs is intelli-rock, maturely conceived and superbly performed; they chill but they excite, they curdle blood but they soothe nerves, they caress the senses with deeply profound works that've been carefully nurtured and sensitively crafted to make one helluva nice noise.

As powerful as they are, Exoterik can be played quite low and moody if the moment dictates but, turn the fucker up to max for the freak show to commence - then it's just awesome!! Exoterik are fronted by female vocals which ensure that the backdrop is kept at sensible levels so as not to drown out her dulcet and somewhat mournful tones - it's a bloody cool trip and Exoterik get the mix absolutely spot-on. 'Don't Swallow' by the brilliant Anglo-Irish Exoterik is power rock at its best and most savage and yet Exoterik make it all feel just so right, so now, so bloody good!! 'Don't Swallow' by Exoterik is ethereal rock at its best and most creative; they don't go overboard into metal mayhem on any front and they keep it all enjoyable, palatable and accessible. A bloody fine album from a great sounding outfit and I absolutely love it!!
