Dr Pock

Demo - Peter Goes To Prison

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Taste' @ 'CD quality'

'Peter Goes To Prison' (great title), simple rips from the speakers and lifts the roof from its supports. Dr Pock are a five piece from the Kent area and have recently reformed having previously created a bit of a do in their area before crash-landing in a state of almost terminal disrepair. Luckily, they've made some urgently needed repairs, patched things up and taken to the road once more. Personally, I'm glad that they've reformed 'cause these lads sound pretty damn impressive.

Definitely on the rockier side of things they're absolutely overflowing with high octane, high energy material. Great songs (four here) performed superbly. Crashing, rhythmic melodies provide a stunning base for amazing vocal work - controlled musical mayhem to blow the cobwebs away and wake up the senses. Both instrumentally and vocally the coming together of Nick Nak, Carl, Mark, Dave and Ian feels like a very positive re-birth of a unit that's incredibly tight and plays as if were pre-destined and simply meant to be. The songs are excellent and although there's a lot going on they somehow manage to remain uncluttered and accessible. The guys play as a complete, well organised and solid unit; there's no big solo's, no obvious ego's trying to outdo their fellow rockers. Dr Pock drives along like a rocket-fuelled, well-oiled music machine and are sure to make a massive impression wherever they hit and finally land - again!!

'Peter Goes To Prison' is a fine example of its genre and Dr Pock have something quite special goin' down. If these four tracks are typical then I can't even start to imagine the atmosphere and havoc they must generate with their live work. Very impressive indeed!!
