Donna Lewis

Single - Shout

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Shout' @ 'CD quality'

Summer in the UK, 2007, may not have been too good so far but Donna Lewis is here to brighten things up with her excellent new single, 'Shout', and its equally impressive 'B' side, 'Kick Inside' - summer songs, quality songs, irritatingly catchy songs!!

Yep, full of 'summer breeze' and bright positivity, 'Shout' will help you get over the bad weather blues and lift you up to a better place. We haven't heard too much from Donna Lewis for quite some time but in her absence from the UK she's been doin' very nicely elsewhere. She back with us now and I feel sure that 'Shout' will give her every chance of making it once again on the fickle UK music scene. With her breathy, sensual voice Lewis turns on the charm with this punchy, happy sounding work and then proceeds to turn the evocative wick up another notch with 'Kick Inside'.

Anthemic pop through and through, 'Shout' has that annoying quality that just makes you take notice; it starts with the realisation that 'Shout' just sounds so sexy - then the superbly uncluttered backdrop kicks into the senses and you find yourself caught in its sticky trap - hey, that's pop alright! Pure pop maybe, but, it has to be said, well thought out and maturely written pop with polish, real likeability and a timeless feel.

With both tracks having been written by Lewis, she shows that she's not just a pretty face with a pretty voice; this young lady knows what's required and she does it with dedicated professionalism and more than a touch of feminine charm. If I could find fault at all here it would be to say that perhaps it's release date, late in August, has been left a little late but hey, we're supposed to be having an 'Indian summer' this year so go grab a copy and wind it up at yer BBQ - it'll work, I promise you. go grab a copy a wind it up at yer BBQ - it'll work, I promise you.
