'Saturday' is the latest single release from the curiously named Donderdag. Full of bopability and rich, jangly guitars and all sort of summery too; good old Brit-pop at its catchiest best, heartwarmingly to the point and easy to get into!

Somewhat reminiscent of Blondie and their outright pop approach, Donderdag go straight for the midriff in terms of commercialism. This track is beautifully handled; it's bright production gives it a happy feel even though perhaps the lyrics aren't actually that joyous. The piece has been mixed well and given a crisp and clear production which is just icing on the already tasty cake. Probably timed perfectly to go well with our current daytime heat wave and balmy evenings, 'Saturday' just has great summer appeal.

'Saturday' has anthem-like qualities and is sure to get loads of followers screaming its title at Donderdag's gigs. Probably not for the rock-set out there but surely a song for the bubblegummers.
