Dolium are a Manchester twosome and this couple make as much 'noise' as a unit double their number! Dolium do dark, punk laced rock - their distorted and somewhat lo-fi attack only adds more edge to their already scary-shit songs. Probably not one for ma or pa this!! Dolium's brash but fierce assault on the musical senses is heightened further by occasional discord and unusual time signatures - Dolium definitely try to be a bit different and they seem to do it extremely well.

'Vampire Attack' is a four track, dark, Bohemian-esque extravaganza that is just as likely to curdle your blood as it is to satiate your passion for things musical. There's loads of thumpin' good hooks to latch on to and some massive ball-breakin' riffs to pogo along to - Dolium certainly aren't short on things annoyingly catchy and/or memorable! If I had to criticise Dolium at all it would be to say that although I like what they're doing here, I still don't see their music being commercial enough to make big waves - Dolium sound like they'll end up being a cultish outfit with loads of darkly clad, black make-up wearing, extrovertly clandestine followers - perhaps that's what Dolium are aiming for though in which case they've succeeded in their ambition already. I don't think so though; I'd guess that Dolium want major recognition and extensive plaudits for their moody and raucous songs.

'Vampire Attack' by Dolium does exactly what it suggests on the cover - it dishes out a selection of darkly melodic but eardrum bustin' tracks for those on 'the dark side' of the musical fence. With loads of throbbin' bass and chunky percussion, Dolium certainly manage to work their way into your brain from a rhythmic point of view. Stabbin' guitars and twisted vocals turn the screw further and mess up your equilibrium. Dolium will get you in the end and then you'll know about it!! 'Vampire Attack' by Dolium is probably a work for the Goths and the real night creatures out there - a rockin' melee of big 'noises' and pounding rhythms. Moody but somehow pleasantly rewarding, 'Vampire Attack' by Dolium manages to hold the attention through the unknown rather than the obvious!
