Dobi Kwe

EP - Don't Forget To Remember

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Feel That Jam!' @ 'CD quality'

Nigerian born Londoner, Dobi Kwe, shows here that she's a versatile R&B-ster as she fuses her soulful, rhythmic works with dance vibes, hints of jazz and a few funky 'world'-beats.

Kwe is a slick vocalist with a mature 'handle' on the eclectic requirements of modern music making. Kwe drops in and out of grooves and changes her musical persona more often than most people change their underwear. Although a bit of a musical Chameleon, Dobi Kwe always manages to hold onto the R&B foundations of her art. Her press pack tells of a gifted vocalist, classically trained pianist, self taught bassist and oft-times DJ. Add to that her prowess in the 'dark' art of the music producer (with her brother Ugonna 'Yugy' Onyekwe) and you start to see that Dobi Kwe knows her trade inside-out. Certainly her ability to draw on several musical genre to enhance her cool, rhythmic vibes makes Dobi Kwe a pretty tough contender is what is a very competitive arena.

From the four tracks on offer here, 'Feel That Jam!', 'What I Need', 'Movershaker' and 'Mr.Nice', is would seem that Dobi Kwe is well on her way to bigger and brighter things. Her eclectic tendencies and genre blurring take on modern R&B mean she can reach out to a wider audience and that fact alone should see Dobi Kwe nicely on her way. 'Don't Forget To Remember' gives a good account of this talented artist and should prove to be a more than useful tool in Dobi Kwe's Pandora's Box of musical assets.
