Dewy Albino

Demo CD

Play 90 second soundbite of 'You Do What You Do' @ 'CD quality'

From the lamented ashes of Birmingham band The Theory Of Everything has risen a new and exciting outfit in Dewy Albino.

Instigated by affable bassman Del Carter, Dewy Albino seem to have got off to a good start. This demo, although rough around the edges, suggests that the affable Mr.Carter has sought out and found a new winning combination of original indie rock songs that are short, punchy and straight to the point. I'm lucky enough to have been sent ten fine tracks here; home produced (hence the rough around the edges feel) that simply blast their way through the ether straight at the aural receptors. Even on just one listen the quality of the songs is obvious. There's some really great riffs all the way through which jump out and bite yer ass!! To pick out any obvious favourites is impossible as they all seem to have something kinda tasty somewhere.

As a rough arse demo (no disrespect Del) this is a really good introduction to this new and promising band. Actually, the overall feel here is quite 'live'. With some quality studio time and the right musicians (I believe the actual line-up has not yet been finalised) these works (any of them or all of 'em) are going to come across with real venom!

At no time do any two tracks sound samey which is a great start considering many indie bands tend to find a groove and stick with it, often to their unknowing detriment. Del Carter has managed to steer well away from that run-off-the-mill, everyday indie trite!! Congrat's Del, this really works.

Even as I write, I'm being drawn into a becoming a similarly moist, white haired (often red rather than pink eyed) music lover as the 'toons' roll effortlessly from the stereo.

Suffice to say, I think Dewy Albino are going to attract a lot of interest with this sort of material. I know that Del Carter will also be able to do the biz in the live - so look out for Dewy Albino.
