Play 90 second soundbite of 'Fallen From Grace' @ 'CD quality'
I haven't yet fathomed why German rock bands seem to be able to re-invent classic rock rather than fall into that gaping abyss that's known simply as metal. Most other countries seem to birth angry young men that want to shout and scream their problems at you rather than sing of their lives in a controlled and tangible manner. Anyway, Destination's Calling do it good and proper!! These guys know how to pound out heavy rock and keep it real. Destination's Calling get close to that old-school prog rock with their theatrical sounding forays - they make a big and bold 'noise' but manage to keep it all proportional and accessible - thank God for small mercies!!
Destination's Calling show with 'Invisible Walls' that epic rock still has a place in the scheme of things musical - heavy rock, hard rock, call it what you will but, Destination's Calling are giving you some of the finest flat-out monster rock around. The massive sounding back-line thumps, pounds and stamps out its iron-clad foundations for the two guitars to work in and around - it's a bright, vibrant sound, crystal clear and superbly produced. Destination's Calling display enormous control with these impressive tracks - they could so easily have gone off into introverted rock mayhem but they had the good sense to keep it beautifully rounded and proportioned, understandable and of course air-guitar friendly - great stuff!
'Invisible Walls' by Destination's Calling is a wonderfully polished and balanced set of epic rock songs. Nothing retro about this work - classic maybe but not retro! Destination's Calling take it just far enough without falling into self-satisfying metal brutality - this is stadium rock for the 00's and on...!! Superb album - superb songs, superb musicianship - fanbloodytastic!!
