Deathray Trebuchay comprise Dr Sultana, Chairman Meaw, Alan the Lude, Hitachi!, Wampa, Spencer Brown - so there!! And, if that's got your appetite nicely whetted I suggest you look these guys out; this is an amazing fusion, an enormous sound, totally fascinating, wonderfully compelling and absolutely bonkers alternative. You think you've heard it all eh! Bet you haven't!! Deathray Trebuchay really are different and that's what's so absorbing and intoxicating. Clearly these guys are supreme individual musicians and they've come together to concoct a stunning melee of hard-core modernistic music that's as original as it is heart stopping!
This debut single, 'Number Six' and it's instrumental companion, 'I'm Gonna Kick You In The Ass', is like a slap in the face, a wake-up call, an astonishing, momentous seven and a half minutes of pure adrenalin fuelled aural toxicity. Severely contagious backbeats are layered with massive flurries of sensational 'horns' and things, all underpinned by vocals that are, well, different but totally in-keeping with the theme (not the instrumental track, obviously!). There's absolutely nothing to find wrong here or even criticise in the slightest - it's massive and it's just so exciting.
'Number Six' by the magnificent Deathray Trebuchay is awesome; I've never heard anything quite like it - some have tried, many have failed but, Deathray Trebuchay absolutely nail it! 'Number Six' by Deathray Trebuchay is a brilliant stand-alone work - I just can't wait to see what these guys do with the larger format of a full-blown album. One thing's for sure though - it'll be something unique and quite mind-blowing. Wonderful, wonderful stuff from Deathray Trebuchay - fanfuckingtastic!!
