Play 90 second soundbite of 'Make Me One' @ 'CD quality'
Lichfield heavy mob Darko Sun make an awful lot of noise for a four piece. There's masses going on which, at times, detracts from the overall feel. The songs are good and strong and the band perform well enough but somewhere, probably in the mix, there's just too much conflict. With so much going on the tracks often feel jumbled and messy and that really doesn't have to be the case. Darko Sun show that they can come up with the goods - no doubting that. It's just the polish that's either missing or has just been overlooked. Whatever, something needs to be sorted to make this special.
This really is an work to enjoy at max db and it'll cause many a brain to swell as a result of frantic head-bangin'. It's like overdosing on IV baked beans - it sure goes through yer!! It's pure, raw energy. It's real grungy, heavy, dirty, metal mayhem to chill out to - no it's not, no way could you chill to this. Play this more than twice and you're likely to end up in a straight jacket in a padded room. But, if that does happen then I recommend you get the men in white coats to have a listen - then they'll understand your problem and you'll be allowed out.
'Ludo' is not for the weak minded or the easily intimidated out there. 'If music be the food of love...prepare for indigestion'!! This monster could prove fatal in the hands and heads of the uninitiated or the untrained.
Darko Sun have all of the tools at hand. They play hard and they rock hard. There's enough talent and potential to see these guys through. I'm sure their live work must be awesome. This demo is also awesome but with a but; but what if Darko Sun got the mix right? What then? Aaaaaaaaagh!!
