DEmo - The New Beef

Play 90 second soundbite of 'The New Beef' @ 'CD quality'

This demo was entered into the 2007 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Demo Competition

As usual, The Courtesy Group have put together a demo of character and aggression. Never could The Courtesy Group be accused of 'selling out' or mediocrity. Theirs is a most unusual and challenging way!

The Courtesy Group take risks lyrically but take death defying leaps musically; like a modern day Captain Beefheart, poetry set to discordant tunes - like an urban battle cry to frighten the shit outa the establishment and common man alike. But, The Courtesy Group's attitude and attention grabbing way is absorbing and entertaining. They don't do things by halves either; it's either head-on or nothing at all. Madcap frontman and urban poet Al Hutchins goes straight for the jugular with his amazing ability to do things a little differently. Is it philosophical, is it observational, is it a bunch of angry men getting things off their chests or is it just psychedelic 'underground'? I just don't know and don't really care - The Courtesy Group are a one off and I'm thankful that they deem to grace the music industry with their off-the-wall wares.

I'd not heard from The Courtesy Group for a few years until this wonderful work came through my letter box. I really thought that the establishment had managed to batter these guys into submission and had forced them out. But no, I'm glad to say The Courtesy Group live on and are continuing their manic, malevolent attack on musical normality. Great stuff this - but beware, it's advisable to take 'The New Beef' in small, bite-size portions. This could just damage your health for life!

Welcome back to the battle-front The Courtesy Group - I, for one, have missed you!
