Communication Error

Demo

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Test-Tone' @ 'CD quality'

Communication Error base their extremely interesting work around instrumental themes with the occasional 'voice' added for good measure. With so many musical pigeonholes now used to describe bands Communication error are difficult to file. Theirs is an unusual blend of electronic dance and rock riff. There's certainly elements of the famous German electronic experimentation works of the 70's (Kraftwerk, Amon Duul II, Faust etc.). There's also, loosely (very loosely), a touch of The Chemical Brothers (minus deck work) and their heady dance oriented vibes. And then there's the rock riffs and punchy rhythm work, sustained guitar notes ringing out against programmed passages whilst bass and percussion cleverly pick out a backdrop. They all somehow manage to come together and result in a pretty massive, stadium sound that's quite intriguing.

There are just two tracks here, 'Test-Tone' and 'Dubterranea'. There are four guys in the band, Chris Smith, Tom Woy, Paul Preston and Peter Wellington. Their combined age (at the time of writing) is still only 69 . Maybe 69's a cool number because Communication Error are trying to turn music on its head through experimentation with multi-genre themes and spacey sounds.

They're young. They're talented. They're not afraid to ask questions, make statement and mix-it-up. Above all, they're showing, with this demo, that Communication Error have all the right attributes and are prepared to push the boundaries in their combined plight to make a musical difference.
