Play 90 second soundbite of 'Ictus : Where Everybody Loses' @ 'CD quality'
Closedown show with 'Deflexion And Polarities' that you can mix it up musically and be successful rock innovators in this world of all-too-often pre-meditated musical banality. The album title, 'Deflexion And Polarity', hints at what's on store for those willing to drink from their good cup. Closedown mess with musical genre in a way that's experimentally fresh, often outrageous but surprisingly entertaining and wholesome.
Amidst the powerhouse but melodic rockin' riffs and frantic metal you'll find expressive acoustic interludes and totally juxtaposed electro fills. This stunning album messes with your senses and gets under your skin. It's stunningly performed and superbly produced - if a little on the short side at just thirty minutes. But, that's half an hour of good rockin' pleasure that challenges musical normality and spits in the face of most of the musical sheep that seem only able to follow the lead of those that have been before and churn out the same old same.
Closedown prove here that it's still possible to come up with new goods and be musically relevant - no matter what musical pigeonhole you prefer to nest in. 'Deflexion And Polarities' is a genuine attempt to be original in a world that all-too-often stinks of plagiarism and suffers from a lack of individuality. 'Deflexion And Polarities' succeeds through experimentation and innovation where many have failed through lack of forethought and foresight - it's a superb piece of contemporary, hard and heavy rock that could set new standards and light the way for more 'sheep' to follow!
