This is simply beautifull; 'Locally Soured Produce' by Built By Robots is one of those albums that hits you hard (in the nicest possible way) as soon as it kicks off, you find yourself being drawn in to the heart of this wonderful work and it's an absolute pleasure to be there!

Built By Robots is the brainchild of multi-talented Gavin Grissett and together with a hefty handful of 'local' (get the connection?) musician friends Grissett has contrived to come up with something very special indeed. 'Locally Sourced Produce' is a gently lilting rockster, mainly guitar fronted but by no means 'in-yer-face' and Grissett ensures the mood is kept sweet by drafting in strings, horns and pretty much everything else going to mix it up and keep it all fluid, smooth and tasty. This guy obviously knows what it's all about and uses all his musical knowledge to make this a reflective and sensual work, a work of passion, a work of massive strength and a work to believe in.

Grissett has a really great and pretty unusual voice and delivers it quite beautifully; he has a rich, warm timbre which suits his songs supremely well and his unhurried, precise delivery is nothing short of excellent. Lyrically, 'Locally Sourced Produce' is mature, sensitive and well metered. Instrumentally, the whole work is sensational; beautifully executed, stunningly crafted, precise, deliberate and well rounded. Built By Robots, whether its the man, the band or the concept is an incredible mode of musical transport - the man, the band, the idea - so right, so cool, so enjoyable.

Although 'Locally Sourced Produce' has its own identity, its own 'branding' if you will, it does put me in mind of a few other 'things' - Colin Vearncombe (Black - quite similar vocal timbre), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull - similar precise delivery), Caravan (same kind of relaxed atmosphere created, same easy fluidity to the songs) to name just three. Listen folks, it really don't get much better than this; 'Locally Sourced Produce' by Built By Robots is pretty unique and bloody amazing - fanbloodytastic actually, like nothing else, like no one else, this is sensational stuff - flawless, faultless - absolutely stunning!!
