'Here Again' is Brett Huckfield's debut single release and will be available on most leading download sites from Feb 1. This singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from the West Midlands has been highly praised in several 'high' places and by some impressive 'names'. Clearly a great songwriter and letting loose here and trying to get a foot in the 'stardom' door with 'Here Again', Brett Huckfield sets his musical stall out in pretty fine fashion! 'Here Again', for me, is perhaps a 'housewife's choice' kinda song that'll go down extremely well with the 'stay at home' mums but might struggle to reach the hearts and souls of the public at large.

'Here Again' is a gentle work that sits somewhere within the 'electroacoustic/rock/jazz' pigeonhole as suggested on Huckfield's Myspace page. Although the song is quite obviously well crafted and lovingly produced, I'm not too sure if it's really got that special 'spark' that would lift it up into the higher echelons of 'pop' success. Radio-friendly and instantly likeable, 'Here Again' certainly has its place in the market though and any air-play that Huckfield manages will, I'm sure, lift the song and the musician towards acceptance and the plaudits it and he deserve.

'So, 'Here Again' by Brett Huckfield is a well thought out release that's not a million miles away from being a 'perfect' 'pop' song. Huckfield shows his writing prowess, he delivers the piece with confidence and professionalism and the end result is 'almost but not quite....'. Huckfield, for me, needs to find that little extra something to lift his songs a little and set them apart from the 'norm'. 'Here Again' then is a decent enough single but, just not quite on the money ....yet!
