Please note that Toxic Pete has now left the 'press room'!!

After much deliberation and consideration I have decided to pull the plug on www.toxicpete.co.uk at least as far as new reviews and updates are concerned.

This website will appear on the internet for some time yet but will remain dormant and I will not be accepting any more CD's for review.

I have been running this music review service for approximately eight years now (since 2001) and it's grown into a bit of a monster that is really starting to get out of control and I feel it's time to give myself a break. This venture began as a free service to the 'local' unsigned music scene and has, unexpectedly, grown and grown into a world-wide service with music coming in from just about everywhere you can think of. With the amount of 'work' now coming in I feel that the 'monster' has now grown too big and too unwieldy such that I'm finding it more and more difficult to find the time and the words to do justice to what I'm hearing and experiencing. As much as I have loved being part of the music scene, I now need some time for myself and 'now' is that time!

So, I will be accepting no more CD's for review from today!! I will try to finish any back log that I have (one very good reason why I'm hanging up my 'reviewers pen' - I never expected to be so inundated with CD's and requests for interviews, advice, gigs etc etc etc!!). My web site, www.toxicpete.co.uk will stay on the internet for a good while yet but will lie dormant from today onwards!!

I have, of course, enjoyed the plaudits I've received for my words and absolutely loved that 'infamy' just like you musicians love your success and all good the positive feedback and praise you get. I just wanted to put something back into the music business that has, for many years, given me such great enjoyment - I hope I succeeded in doing that! It's been a pleasure being involved with all of you, I've met some great people along the way and I've heard some unbelievable music and and experienced some fantastic performances.

I'd like to thank everyone that's used my service over the years and particularly those that have heaped praise on me and my humble words. Also, I'd like to thank those that have let me into their world, the recording studios, rehearsal rooms, radio and television studios etc - it's been a great experience and I've learned a great deal about the music business during my time with your music, in your places of work and in your creative world(s).

So, it's time for toxic pete to sit back and enjoy the music of the world without the pressure of having to 'go to work'! I wish you all well and please feel free to keep me in the loop if you so wish but please don't expect feedback and/or advice.

Thank you so much for allowing me into your world - it means a lot to me to think that I may have you helped in any way at all, keep music live - keep music real but, above all, just keep rockin'!!
