Typical in its form and massively full-on, 'The Irony Of Your Perfection' is rammed full of screamin' angst and roaring passion. With vocals that run the full gamut of this rock idiom', gruesome growls to tender tones, and scorchin', wailin' riffs supported by a solidly driven and mind-numbingly tight, rockin' rhythm section, Asking Alexandria nail it big time! Unlike many within this genre, Asking Alexandria manage to ram home their wares with uncluttered perfection; they never loose the musical plot or choke each other through uncontrolled mayhem. These guys play as one and benefit from their unity and ability to rock-it-up with controlled aggression and well honed passion.
The album feels massive and Asking Alexandria don't put a foot wrong. The mix is excellent and everything's produced 'just so'. Refreshingly, many of the lyrics can actually be heard and understood and Asking Alexandria aren't at all afraid to come down from the towering plinth to roll out some cool and expressive passages that not only offer respite but show the delicacy that Asking Alexandria hold in their combined armoury. They can be as heavy as you want them to be whilst retaining a melodic backdrop that sometimes defies logic. Superb at low vol but crank up the db's to get the most out of Asking Alexandria and really start to feel their music deep down as they unnervingly shake every sinew in your body with their heady, often manic, metal.
'The Irony Of Your Perfection' by Asking Alexandria, within its genre, is certainly as good as anything currently out there and better than many. Asking Alexandria have their feet planted firmly on metal ground bur retain a rock sensibility that allows their songs to be enjoyed to the max. Heavy, hard, solidly driven and damn impressive.
