Antiproduct had decorated just about everything they could with brightly coloured drapes, boas, vines, in fact almost anything that would hang from something else.
Before the band came on stage the lights dimmed to reveal the full effect of the drapes etc.. The whole stage area came to life with glowing colour! Then, on they came sporting just as much colour themselves. The young crowd immediately ran to stage front and the moshin' began as the band struck up!
Antiproduct did just about everything that you'd expect as they rocked away through their set. Don't get me wrong, they can all play extremely well but the visuals somehow just take over.
It was a photographers nightmare in the mosh pit trying to get good shots. None-the-less, bruised and battered, I think I managed to catch the atmosphere. What's more, I probably didn't get as bruised as lead man, A Product as he thrashed around with his guitar (and some of the audience). Milena-Yum on keys particularly impressed me and a solid rhythm section from 'The Gonk' and amazing bass from Toshi drove everything on. Hard working Clare never stopped - she was a real wild child at times. Great stuff!!
Yes, a night with a difference - but still a good night with the band playing many of their obviously well known toons. I actually found myself smiling at the performance - out of amazement rather than out of musical appreciation as their songs were generally unknown to me, but I did enjoy it!
